BLOOMINGTON, IN – 12 December 2022 — Cynisca Cycling unveiled their kit design for the team’s 2023 inaugural season as a UCI Women’s Continental Team. Mumu Apparel, a Florida-based, family-owned cycling apparel company, is the official Cynisca team kit supplier.
“This was my first time to work through a kit design and large team order,” said Julie Barnett, Cynisca’s art director. “Mumu made the process seamless, no pun intended.”
The Cynisca Cycling team will race and train in customized Mumu Primo and Elite jerseys and bibs with options for cold weather comfort. The Primo jersey is lightweight and engineered to give athletes an aero fit and flexibility. Signature premium DeanSilk fabric on the front is soft, highly elastic and conforms to the body shape. Technical DeanDot fabric extends across the upper back panel and sleeves, which aids freedom of movement and ventilation.
The Primo Bib Shorts are made with a compressive lycra material that hugs tightly to the skin for an aero fit. They are lightweight with seamless lightweight Italian straps and are the perfect bibs for support and compression.
The Elite bibs and jerseys are the classic go-to options for everyday and long training rides. They are made for speed, comfort and style, and are Mumu’s most popular fit.
“We want our Cynisca riders to have the highest quality, most comfortable fit with a design that gets noticed,” said Barnett. “I’m a casual rider, and after seeing and feeling the quality of the Mumu kits, I can’t wait to order my own.”
Mumu Apparel is a Florida based, family-owned company specializing in custom cycling apparel. Mumu tailors each customer’s experience to meet their specific needs. Mumu Apparel was started by cyclists for cyclists looking to create a brand that offered a new customer experience while creating high performance, quality products at all levels.
“Mumu’s mission is to lead the cycling wear industry into a new fashion forward space while keeping our customers’ experience at the forefront,” said Mumu’s owner Jan Heylen. A Belgian native, Heylen grew up an avid cyclist in the heart of cycling country but made his career as a professional race car driver.
The Cynisca Cycling name, logo and team kit were influenced by the first woman to compete and win in the Olympic Games (396 & 392 BC). Cynisca broke barriers of entering into the male-only Olympics. Her triumph became a symbol for women of future generations, and her legacy inspires young women today.
Cynisca will announce other team sponsors later this week.
